Anti Addiction Campaign: Save Health, Save Wealth
It is observed that tobacco and alcohol only damage heath but also economically weaken the people. Ours is a poor backward area. Such bad habits as using tobacco and liquor are devastating people financially as they are already economically weak. So want to keep them away from such dangerous habits. We wanted to create a health and addiction less society. It was aimed to create aware among people against its harmful effects.
Being uneducated it was hard to convene people to give up the habit. The working class people here consider it as cheap and wonderful recreation. They give many arguments in favour of its use.
Health is a great wealth for the 65% young people of India. only health young power can contribute to the financial upliftment of India. any addiction to alcohol and tobacco want be and obstacle to our dream of becoming a 5 trillion economy. So we gave the heaviest thrust to remove any hurdle to achieve the target of our nation. This was not an easy task considering people unwillinlyness to give up the bad habits. It was hard to make them understand that such habits pollute the atmosphere also.
We succeeded in our effect to the maximum level. Repeated awareness increasing drives had good results. Many of students succeeded in persuading their parents to give up alcohol and tobacco. our success shows that if awareness is created among college students, they become messengers to the society. The villagers’ thoughts are affected by these young educated boys and girls.
People were not readily convinced. They easily got cheap local made liquor and tobacco pouches. they did not consider it an economic burden. They rather consider them to be performance enhancing was and an aid to their earning capacity. So they stuck to their habits. Visiting the villages in the rugged terrain was also a great challenge. we are thankful that Gujarat Police also associated in our endeavour and repeatedly the campurs. we also had doctors for delivering lactures to the students.
Addiction to alcohol and tobacco develop more rapidly when boys and girls are in formative stage. if his practice is implemented in all colleges it will have reaching conaeaousness . The nation will have a strong health and fit youth power.
